An anaglyph is a stereoscopic technique which separates left and right images by using two different colours, usually red and green or red and blue.. The pictures are printed on top of each other. Viewing them with bi-colour glasses, i.e. red/green or red/cyan, creates a 3D image.

Anaglyphs utilize black-and-white pictures or colour pictures. When using colour photographs, red and green or red and blue should not be present in the pictures. This avoids any conflicts in the production of the two half-images.
